The tools on our desk

Charts, exchange and on-ramp — the three things you actually need to put a lesson into practice. No filler list, no tools we don't use, no paid placements.

Educational information only. Not financial advice. See the full disclaimer at the bottom of this page.

How these links work

The BloFin, TradingView and Coinbase links below are referral links. If you sign up through one and later pay fees, we may earn a commission or a fee credit. It costs you nothing extra, and in some cases it lowers your fees.

Nobody pays us to be on this page. We list tools we use ourselves, and we point out the trade-offs of each one — because a recommendation without the downside isn't a recommendation, it's an ad.

    BloFin

    Exchange · spot & futures

The exchange our trade plans get written on. Spot first, futures only when the stop is already decided.

    • Spot and derivatives in one account, plus copy trading and earn products
    • Fee discounts and referral perks apply when you open the account through our link
    • Where we practise entries, exits and position sizing from the lessons

Watch out: Futures mean leverage: a small move against you can wipe a position. Availability, fees, features and restricted regions vary by country — check BloFin's own terms before you deposit.

    TradingView

    Charting & alerts

Every chart in our lessons, the Weekly Tape and the Beginner Guide is drawn here. This is the one tool you genuinely need.

    • Clean candles, levels, drawing tools and the indicators we teach
    • Price alerts so you can walk away from the screen instead of watching it
    • The free plan is enough to start — no paid tier required to follow the lessons

Watch out: A chart is a map, not a promise. Indicators lag, alerts don't manage risk, and a fancy plan won't fix an unplanned trade.

    Coinbase

On-ramp · buy with card or bank

The simplest way to move money from a bank or card into crypto, especially if you're in the US.

    • Bank transfer, debit card and a regulated, familiar interface
    • Identity verification is required — expect a one-time setup step
    • Often used as the front door: buy here, then transfer to your exchange to trade

Watch out: Convenience costs money — instant card buys carry higher fees than bank transfers. Compare the fee shown at checkout before you confirm.

02How they fit together

  1. 1

    Chart it first

Open TradingView, mark your levels, write the plan. If you can't, there is no trade yet.

  2. 2

    Move money in

Use Coinbase (or your local on-ramp) with an amount you can afford to lose entirely.

  3. 3

    Trade the plan

Execute on your exchange — spot until your stop-loss habit is automatic, leverage only after.

  4. 4

    Log it

Write down entry, stop, size and reason before you click. A journal is the cheapest edge there is.

None of these accounts is required to read a single lesson on this site. They're just where the work happens.

03Before you fund anything

  • Decide your risk per trade (many traders cap it at 1–2% of the account) before you deposit a cent.
  • Do a withdrawal test with a small amount before you ever deposit a large one.
  • Keep exchange, charting and banking passwords unique, with two-factor auth turned on.
  • Never add to a losing position to 'average down' without a written reason.
  • Assume any coin, platform or feature can go offline, delist or change terms overnight.

04Financial disclaimer

Educational content only — not financial advice.

Nothing on this page is a recommendation, offer, solicitation or endorsement to buy, sell or hold any cryptocurrency, security or other asset, and nothing here is an analysis of any specific market or account. We are not a licensed broker-dealer, investment adviser or tax professional, and using this page does not create any advisory, fiduciary or client relationship. You alone decide, execute and pay for every trade.

Referral disclosure: links to BloFin, TradingView and Coinbase are referral links. We may receive commissions, fee credits or rewards if you register or spend through them, at no additional cost to you. That compensation never determined what's on this list, and we do not accept payment for placement, ranking or reviews.

Risk: cryptocurrencies are volatile and unregulated in many jurisdictions. Prices can drop to zero, leverage can lose more than you deposit, exchanges can freeze or restrict withdrawals, and networks can fail. Only trade money you can afford to lose entirely.

Third parties: we don't control these services. Fees, features, availability, restricted regions and terms can change or end without notice, and they may not be available in your country. Verify everything on each provider's own website and read their terms before signing up.

No guarantees: past performance never guarantees future results. No pattern, indicator, course, guide or membership can promise a profit. Do your own research and, if in doubt, consult a licensed professional in your country.
